A Gallery Built From Memory, Culture, and Intention

When I moved to Sydney, I arrived with excitement and ambition. A new life was opening in front of me, and I was ready to build something of my own. Yet after some time, I realised that something essential was missing.

It was not a place. It was a feeling.

I could not feel the vibration of my culture. The colours, the stories, and the emotional depth that African art carries were only living in my mind. And the more I built my life in Australia, the more I understood that this absence was not only personal. It was also cultural.

Africa holds extraordinary talent. Contemporary African artists create with intelligence, mastery, and power. Yet too often, their work remains misunderstood, underrepresented, or reduced to clichés.

I wanted to change that. I wanted to give this creativity a home in the city I now cherish.

That is how Maison Touré was born.

Maison Touré is a gallery based in Sydney, dedicated to authentic and unique African artworks created by carefully selected African artists. Every work we present is chosen for its quality, authenticity, and symbolic strength. Each artwork is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and provenance documentation.

But Maison Touré is not only about artworks. It is about encounters.

The gallery was built with one central intention: to create a space where exceptional artists can meet a curious and open audience in Australia. A space where collectors, art lovers, and those discovering African art for the first time can experience a modern Africa that creates, inspires, and resonates.

Our works are presented through a curated selection online, and through in person experiences in Sydney. The full collection can be viewed during exhibitions, pop up presentations, and private viewings by appointment.

In January 2026, I travelled to West Africa and met the artists we will present in Sydney. Each encounter confirmed what I already believed: when the artist is true, the work becomes true as well. Behind every canvas is a life, a discipline, a story, and a vision. Maison Touré exists to honour that truth and to share it with care.

This is the beginning of a long journey. A journey built on authenticity, respect, and cultural pride.
