Trained in the studio of master artist Daouda Ndiaye, whom he considers his mentor, Diagne has developed a distinctive approach combining painting, collage, and mixed media techniques.
His compositions blend abstract forms with figurative gestures to explore themes of identity, resilience, and collective memory. His vibrant yet balanced palette reflects both the energy of West African cities and the serenity of ancestral wisdom.
Since his first exhibition in 2001 at the Blaise Senghor Cultural Center in Dakar, Diagne has presented his work in Senegal, France, Spain, and Portugal. Among his notable exhibitions is Essence et Espoir, a series addressing contemporary social realities such as migration, poverty, and African traditions.
During the COVID 19 pandemic, he participated in the Creativity is Life artist residency, creating Soppi jikkó (“change of behavior”), a symbolic handwashing installation made from recycled materials in collaboration with local artisans, reflecting his commitment to community resilience and creative engagement in times of crisis.
At Maison Touré, his work embodies a contemporary Africa, one that remembers, reimagines, and creates anew.
